Business and Family
This week we spoke a lot about business and family balance. I tried to apply that into my personal life. I tried to make time for my family and school. I have been struggling a lot with finding joy and balance in my life. I feel like a scale always tipped over, never balanced. I really enjoyed watching the videos and see people who had similar struggles and how they accomplished them. I was inspired by N. Eldon Tanner who said, "There are two important elements in self-mastery. The first is to determine your course or set the sails, so to speak, of moral standards; the other is the willpower, or the wind in the sails carrying one forward." (Success Is Gauged by Self-Mastery). I was taken back by the thought that I need to determine my goals and then have the willpower. Because I know where I am lacking, and that is willpower. I have set goals and tried to find ways to be successful, but I loose faith in myself. I loose faith that I am doing what God wants me to do. It is frustrating and most days school is the last thing I want. But I found that when I do change my will power I do much better. I was going out of town so I knew I needed to finish my school work early and manage my time. When I had something to work for it made it worth while.
